Why the FUCK does this look so good? Usually I just see shit. Damn, you earned a follow

The glow-up is insane. The old sprites look like a Neo Geo Pocket game but it slowly became more of its own thing which I think is for the better since some of the sprites wouldn't look good if they were created in that previous style. Just looking at Samurai Asshole, Convict, and Salad Fingers just says enough about how far the project has come. Even the backgrounds had gotten the glow-up treatment as well.

Also, since the select screen is getting a rework. A nice detail would be if Grunt/Henchman and the real Piconjo are unlocked as secret characters just like how they were secrets/easter eggs in Newgrounds Rumble. In Newgrounds Rumble, Grunt/Henchman can be unlocked in versus mode by clicking next to Hank googles and the real Piconjo can be found if you 100% completed the game (not as a playable character but instead gives you a message warning you that Newgrounds Rumble Piconjo isn't the real Piconjo). It would be a nice reference to Newgrounds Rumble secrets which are also callbacks to fighting games having secrets/easter eggs. You even get achievements by finding these secrets which is cool.

Project looks pretty interesting so far. I'm hoping the roster gets remixed a little more, I'd love to see some of the Newgrounds Rumble cast replaced by different characters to make this a lot more unique roster-wise.
Excited to see where this goes!

@ProsciuttoMan I honestly really like the idea of them adding everyone from the original Newgrounds Rumble and adding more to it. The roster choice for Newgrounds Rumble is a perfect balance of what makes Newgrounds special. Newgrounds Rumble isn't about the faces or popular characters. NegativeOne said multiple times that he wants Newgrounds Rumble to be a celebration of Newgrounds history than bring in a bunch of recognizable characters for easy praise. Imagine a Smash game without Ice Climbers, Mr. Game & Watch, and ROB the Robot. Or a Marvel Vs Capcom game without any of the obscure Capcom or Marvel characters. In fighting games, you not only need the faces and popular characters, but you also need the freaks. If anything, the Newgrounds Rumble roster reminds me of the Smash 64 starting roster.

Plus NegativeOne did listen to fan requests. In an interview, Hank was the most popular early character people wanted in the game which caused NegativeOne and Mindchamber to add Hank (and the secret character Henchman/Grunt) to the game for Madness Day. You can also thank NegativeOne for even getting Brad Borne, the creator of Fancy Pants, to finish the Fancy Pants sprites in an update due to people begging NegativeOne to add Fancy Pants back when Fancy Pants didn't make it in the base roster and was almost scrapped entirely.

I can go on and on about why I adore the Newgrounds Rumble roster so much from the story mode to even the little details what they add to each character.

This project looks so good. Keep it up!

sick spritework, holy heck!!

I hope that the game will be fully released, and what other programming language do you program in?

it's a lame that no character from eddsworld will be appearing as a fighter (for now). but this project looks very interesting.
